About the role:
The vacancy is for an Account Manager in our Advanced Organics Business Unit (VAO), reporting to the Global Operational Marketing & Commercial Manager for VAO. The Account Manager is responsible for managing ongoing sales and business development at a large number of European accounts. General accounts represent the bulk of the customer portfolio for the Account Manager and, while important, the interaction can be managed largely remotely.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
  • Organizational Awareness:
  • Establish regular contact with key points of knowledge and influencers in the customer’s organization in order to support Valtris’ market intelligence.
  • Relationship Management:
  • Ensure frequent interactions with customers as an enabler of a good market knowledge, high customer focus and an improved customer experience.
  • Work with the technical service team to address all technical issues at the customer request.
  • Liaise with all other internal departments to ensure that all requests from the customer are followed up within timeframes acceptable to them

  • Business development:
  • Identify growth opportunities, critical success factors and the key decision makers before driving to closure through self-driven management.
  • Margin & Cash Management:
  • Represents the interests of Valtris as part of the sales function working to drive improvement opportunities and actions identified by Operational Marketing.
  • Operational Business Management:
  • Ensure appropriate business forecasting via the sales function to Operational Marketing & Supply Operations to provide a positive order fulfilment experience.
  • Drive the development and implementation of the sales and marketing strategy.
  • Monitor regional competitor activity to recommend necessary tactical action.
  • New Product Development:
  • Identify sales channel opportunities to support the stage gate approach in justification and commercialization of new products.
  • Business Leadership:
  • Ensure the voice of the customer is heard within Valtris and the Valtris market messaging is communicated robustly into the customer’s organization.
About you:
The successful candidate will possess the following experience, qualifications, and skills:
  • Educational level and experience:
  • Educated to Degree level.
  • At least 2-3 years in a sales or commercial role including some market intelligence analysis and experiences in ERP/CRM tools management
  • Drive & Commitment:
  • Most important is that we recruit a dynamic, results-oriented person combining sound commercial skills with the ability to understand the technical basics of specialty polymer additives and their applications.
  • Able to handle a large number of customers in line with specified priorities and to perform under pressure.

  • Communication:
  • Able to communicate confidently and effectively with customer contacts.
  • Strong presentation skills for external and internal presentations.
  • Technical Awareness:
  • Able to develop a technical awareness of our products and applications to be able to conduct an application related basic product portfolio introduction to customers.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Sales Force and associated data manipulation tools is an advantage.
Employment Location:
Our Advanced Organics Business Unit is headquartered in Tessenderlo, Belgium. The successful candidate would be based at this location and primarily working from the Tessenderlo office.
